Dear Reader:

We are pleased to inform you that the KeyBank Foundation has awarded CfAL with a $2,500 grant for our Technology Cascade & Training Program.

This grant will permit CfAL to sustain its parent computer program for disadvantaged families that have children attending New Haven Public Schools.

Through this grant and funding from other sources, CfAL will give computer training to 40 parents who have school-age children, and upon completing training, CfAL will give the families a gently-used computer, running current software, and install the computer in their home. The families will also receive a year of technical support. These actions will help extend learning beyond the 4 walls of the classroom for the students, and increase parents’ involvement in their children’s education.

This news is exciting, but also important is the KeyBank Foundation’s confidence in CfAL’s capability to help improve the learning outcomes of New Haven Public School students.

On behalf of our Board, staff and volunteers, we are truly thankful for this grant award from the KeyBank Foundation.
